HSH combo in strat knockoff

I got a copy fat strat (no idea what the wood is.. it's a heavy guitar though for a strat) and a leftover JB.. so I'm thinking a master vol, master tone, 5 way switch.. what's a good bucker for the neck position.. been looking at pearly gates, 59, and jazz.. and what's a good single coil to go with that neck pup?

what kinda music? ... what kinda tone are you looking for? .. i have an alnico II pro humbucker in the neck paired with a JB and love it for an all around versatile pickup ... as for the center single coil, really depends on what you will be doing with it ... anything from a hot/cool rails or a lil 59 or a new classic stack plus ... all depends on what you want

good luck

Both the jazz and the JB split nice, so make them push/pull pots and
you'll have gobs of good strat sounds as well as the humbuckers.

Re the middle pup, I wouldn't get staggered, as I don't see the
point. If I were building the guitar I'd be thinking about APS-2
to make sure there is a warmer, authentic strat sound available.

You didn't say what the fingerboard was or how twangy you want to
be. If you want to be loud (for instance you aren't interested in the
split tones in the hummers) then the APST-1 also may be a nice
choice.

[Disclaimer, I have experience with jazz, JB and splits but
have never tried Duncan strat pickups, just saying what I would
look for. Recognize that I'm also more into strat blues sounds than
metal].
