HSH with a Twangbanger in the middle?

Hello all,

I'm back with a question: I'm looking for a Strat-style pup to put between two standard HBs (hint: an all-mahogany Strat-style with a FR trem and ebony fretboard). The HBs are Gibby 496/R/498T (those are gonna stay, they match the guitar perfectly) and my current single-coil is the SSL-1. Alas, its output is lower than what I'd like. I'm looking for something hotter but not quite as hot as the SSL-6 (which is the only alternative I've tried). I've followed the DC resistance/resonant peak path in choosing the pup and I think I want to try a Twangbanger.

Sooo: What do you think of putting the Twangbanger in the middle slot on a HSH setup?

Thanks

Tony

One more piece of info:
If you click the "some of my favourite..." link, the guitar I'm asking about is the one titled "Schecter-SStyle-resampled.jpg". Awwww man, you gotta love that mahogany grain. Or so I thought until my luthier/repairman guy told me "yeah, that's what we call the 'furniture-type' mahogany. It's really dense and heavy (which it really is, n.b.) but the tone is not the best." Well, screw all furniture notions. The guitar's a sweetheart.

Could be interesting. I love the sound of the Twangbanger, but obviously have only used it in the bridge of my Legacy. I think it might work well in your guitar, to complement the 'buckers.
