HSS polarity, 5 way switch with Auto split, etc

Ok folks, some of you may remember my previous post having trouble getting my Little 59 to play nice and hum cancel in position 2 in Auto Split mode with my APS-2 RW/RP middle(The coil would split but it wasn't hum cancelling), so I had an HSS pickguard laying around and decided to throw a Pearly Gates Bridge model into the mix and see if maybe there was just an issue with the Little 59. Well first thing I noticed was that the Pearly Gates slug coil and the APS-2 RW/RP are the same polarity Magnetically (ie, they repel each other) so I'm thinking there is no way this is going to be hum cancelling if they are the same polarity (Just for the sake of checking, in case someone had switched the magnet around on this Pearly sometime in the first 10 years of its life, I checked the polarity of a brand new in the box 59/custom trembucker, and it matched the Pearly Gates. Then I thought maybe the APS-2 is mislabeled, but I've had a Twang Banger, and SSL-6 installed with this same Neck and Bridge APS set over the years, and they worked like a charm, hum cancelling in position 2. I'm at a loss why I can't get this setup to be hum cancelling in position 2 with all SD pickups, and wired exactly like the Diagram below. I even flipped the magnet on the Pearly so the slug coil would be opposite polarity of the Middle and it still hums in Position 2 when wired for the autosplit. It is splitting to the slug coil, because I tapped the pole pieces of the screw coil in position 2 with an allen wrench and they are turned off. So I've had the same luck with the Lil 59, and a standard sized Pearly Gates Bridge pickup. I know, I know the Autosplit isn't going to sound the same as a standard strat with all Single coils, but it should be in the ballpark, and still hum cancelling.... Am I the only one who has had this issue? Do I need to use a superswitch to get this accomplished? Are the slug coil of a typical Seymour Duncan humbucker and a RW/RP Seymour middle pickup the same polarity (repel each other) ? This is the diagram I am using. I used the same wiring for the full size PG bridge pickup as for the little 59.

Re: HSS polarity, 5 way switch with Auto split, etc

That means that your middle pup is correct. There has to be something wrong with the way you have the bridge pup wired. double check everything, then double check it again. And if everything seems to be correct, double check it (because it isn't correct).
