hum when i touch strings or bridge

guitar hum's when i touch strings or bridge and even hums when im not touching but gets worse when i touch something!!

ok i just wired a semour duncan distortion into my aria pro II guitar. Now i was having trouble cause it was 5 wires on pickup but i called support and tech talked me through what to do with 5th wire just ground it.

Anyway im pretty sure this is a ground issue and i tryed reconecting ground on bridge and i also ran a ground wire from botom of volume pot to the tone selector cause something was grounded on that too but no luck still.

Any help with this would be great any pointers or anything.

My guitar has 1 humbucker and 2 single coils i play metal so im thinking about just disconecting the 2 single coils and was also wondering if i can just bypass the tone selector 5 way switch cause i dont even use it and kinda just wana get rid of my single coils just have them for looks!!

I was thinking of just buying all new wire and new knobs pots and some more shelding and all that stuff and just rewire only the humbucker into it but if anyone has some quick fixes i might be able to try so i can get rid of that hum that would be cool before i go buy all new parts!!:smack:

Re: hum when i touch strings or bridge

oh yea if i leave humbucker wire long and it raps around inside my casing will this create buzz too should i cut the wires from pickup so there just long enough to conect were needed??
