I have a Seymour Duncan made humbucker (EVH Frankenstein) that mysteriously started to gradually lose it's treble frequencies and ouput about two weeks ago. Right now, when fully turned up to 10, it sounds like it's only on 5 or 6 and it actually sounds like I've engaged a "fat switch" In other words, it's only "muffled" bass frequencies that are coming through!
I checked and re-checked all the wires, resoldered them, changed the pot, the jack, checked the cable and the amp by plugging in my other guitars and everything is good.
The only thing I have yet to do is throw in another pickup and/or put the malfunctioning pick up into another guitar to see if I get the same result.
Any thoughts or suggestions?! I'm out of ideas...
