Humbucker regular wiring not working

Hi, I've got a Gibson with 2 SD Super Distortion pickups. Had them for years with a Free-way (6 position switch). I thought the switch failed so I rewired with regular 3 way switch and now sound is weak sounding out of phase. I've bypassed everything running both pickups straight to the amp with same result. Diagram shows black is hot and green/bare are ground. Red and white soldered and taped together. This is not working though. Interesting if I touch the red/white to ground or hot the sound gets much fuller and louder? Both pickups measure about 8.6 ohms from black to green. About half that from black to red/white. I think that is normal. I can't understand what is happening here? Any ideas?

I think you’ve got it wired wrong. Red is hot in Dimarzio, I believe...

So black+white tied
Red to hot
Green and bare to ground.

Fwiw, Bill/Becky Lawrence are White-hot...red&green together and black/blue are ground... for those wanting to update this for the future..

Duh.... I forgot these were Dimarzio. I had a Seymore Duncan wiring diagram printed off from when I wired it previously. That ought to work better if I use the correct hot wire. Thanks!

Re: Humbucker regular wiring not working

Fixed! Totally thought I was using Seymour Duncans. Oops. Wonder how long that would have taken me to figure out. Thanks.
