South start and bare both go to earth. Bare will be the screening cable. Have the pups got screening cable? That's your '5th' wire.
Don't worry about the Cap, put whatever one on that you have already on your old tone pot..
Yes, you can use the same knob as you took off the original tone pot to put back onto the new push-pull one.

ok got it... so...
the south and Bare are the green wire on SD
the north start is the black on SD
and the north finish and south finish are the red and white on SD

and, what capacitor did you use on your modification?? and what was that about the right resistance range and taper ??

I resoldered the original cap that was on the normal tone pot before, on my Cu24, back onto the new push-pull pot.
