Humbuckers and Fender Amps?

B.B. King uses the Gibson Lab Series amps (L9 if I remember correctly) almost exclusively and has for many many many years. It's a solid state for all of you who don't know :)

Actually you both are right! He uses what he can get while he is on the road. If he can get Lab Series, thats what he uses. If he can't its the Fenders.

I havn't read this thread so if someone already pointed this out here goes again...
It looked as if Pete Townsend was using a stack of Fender amps at the Live 8 concert and it sounded good to me.

I do know one thing about Gibsons into Fenders......buy Seth Lovers, 59's, or Antiquities.
I was playing my LP w/50th Ann. Seths into my 4-10 Bassman LTD today, and it's a magical combination. Hotter pickups sound OK, but the lower output Duncan humbuckers have so much character, vibe, and clarity, that Fender amps just sound fat and sweet with them.
Ben there, done that, and will be doing that again.

They're don't really have the status as the suggestions most people are making but I think it would be unfair not to mention the Strokes. Particularly the intro to Last night. The most exciting thing about this sound is that they're using Blues Devilles 4x10's with Epiphone 335 copies. I'm not exactly sure what guitars they're using but this setup is a considerably more affordable to most of us on a more realistic budget.
Not quite. Albert hammond uses a Fender Strat (single coils) and Nick Valensi uses a modified Epiphone Riviera - nowadays they come with minihumbuckers, but his model had full humbuckers. HOWEVER he took them out, and put Gibson p94s (p90s in a full 'bucker cover - like SD Phat Cats) in instead. They also both use Jeckyl & Hyde OD pedals, I believe. SO, cool tones but no humbuckers I'm afraid!
