help to warm up the tone on my jackson dkmgt. it also must have a decent output (i hear nickel strings aren't as magnetic as nickel plated steel?).

they must also be quite easy to bend and smooth to the touch.

10-46 is usually the gauge i go for.

any suggestions? thanks

Try changing your pick . . . I've found that lighter picks give me a much brighter sound than thick, heavy picks. The most important difference between sets of string really seems to be their size . . . I like .11 - .48 or around there for nice, deep sound with lots of output.

i am worried that 11s may be too tight for me on my 25.5 scale guitar in standard tuning

Pure nickel strings don't have any noticeable decrease in output vs. nickel plated.

The first thing I always recommend when someone asks what strings will give them a warmer sound and smoother feel are DR Pure Blues. Great tone, long life... I currently have a set on my Carvin Carve Top (a somewhat colder-sounding guitar compared to my other ones) and it really made a huge difference vs. the nickel-plated steel strings I had on there before.

Yeah, change you pick first. This does make a difference. Pure nickel strings are not going to lower your output IMO. Well, not enough to make any kind of difference.

Trying to find pickups and strings to 'warm up' your guitar is pretty much useless if you're using a solid state combo amp. Plug that thing into something with tubes and you'll probably think it's too warm..

far point but i still beleive it is possible to warm up the tone slightly. i have owned mahogany guitars that sound warmer than my current guitar and if i can get closer to that with this guitar thats a bonus

Try those new D'ADdario FACE PUNCHERS!! They're like the Duncan Invader of guitar strings. The difference is that due to patented technology if you're playing insults the integrity of the string, they'll bust off the headstock and punch you in the face!! Apparently Mr. T approves of them!:D:D:D
