So for years I worked at one of the biggest guitar stores in my town... I left to start my own shop and when that didn't work out I went to work for one of the bigger ones. Anyway, I got to see a lot of guitars and amps come and go and a few of them really stuck to me. I bought a few of the ones I really wanted, but a lot more escaped my grasp. This is one that got away but found it's way back.
I unpacked this one when it was brand new. Loved the look, and it plays and sounds great. It was $999 when it was new and thus way out of the question... I was still saving my pennies to get my first Les Paul. For some reason, this particular Telecaster, out of all of the Telecasters, was prone to jumping out of its guitar hanger and destroying other guitars in inventory. It's got some major dings and dents because of that, and a good friend of mine who's a monster of a player bought it at the scratch-n-dent price and gigged the hell out of it. He eventually sold it to a guy in town who builds guitars, who sold it to a different friend of mine, who sold it to me. Far out, right?
