Well, I can't justify my $159 used Squire Strat, since I just don't have enough evidence, facts, or empirical data to prove that it's better than the $149 used Squire Strats that are out there. Now, I happened to have bought it because of the color, but I know I'm not allowed to let things influence my decision that don't impact the features or playability.

I recommend people watch the Chinese guitar factory videos on youtube. It will give you some added respect for those cheap guitars. Many people/families have suffered to make them for us so we must appreciate them and give them the best life they can have. :laughing:

All my guitar finishes are acrylic. Hows it any harder or more boutique then spraying a poly or nitro?

Actually that was a stupid thing to say. I will just agree yeah acrylic is by far the nicest finish imo :9:

You have to let the wood breathe for better tone. Everyone knows that wood has no effect on guitar tone.

I think this thread belongs in The Sound Room. I can't tell if the OP was really a serious question or not. The photo originated from the official Fender Japan site (http://www.fenderjapan.co.jp/st62_spl.html) but the guitar discussed in the post was not credible. I'm 100% on board with all the sarcasm that followed, however.

Apon investigation, yes . It appears to be real wood all the way through.


The pickups are stunners with pole pieces and bar magnets, Bright like most cheap pups are, 5 way switch. It has a whammy bar and came with alum keys to adjust the bridge and a cord to plug it in with.

That has cash converters written all over it! I gotgiven some aldi pedals once think they came under the brand liverstone anyway they where incredibly ****.

For 80 tho what a score. do they have any other models?

I've spent the night investigating paints and I've determined that the ultimate finish is latex. It allows more of the natural sound of the pressboard to come through, especially if the glue is Elmer's.

^ Yes, always latex over wood. You don't get the same feel, but it gives better protection.
