Re: I bought a new Solid State amp today
Anyways i was out jamming a bit tonight.... well just me and a drummer... i had the Fender head and my 1x12 Marshall 1912 cab, my older Jackson Dinky with a JB.... The clean channel didn't sound that bad with that guitars neck humbucker.... i got the volume up to about 3 on both channels... anymore and the guy next door could hear loud and clear.... maybe he could anyways... That Marshall cab was just a movin! The speaker was pumping the bass and you could feel the cab vibrating seriously... It has a 150watt speaker in it and should be able to take the abuse.... besides it was only on 3.... i used my 5150 head thru this at loud volumes a lot in the past anyways...
We ended up recording some with it.... He had a little wee mic infront of the Marshall..... I think the mic was meant to record Saxaphones/brass... i cut the gain back a bit to help make the recording sound bigger and better and it sounded pretty good! I over powered his drum kit on a lot of the takes so you could hear me just fine. The amp surprised me, and sounded good on the recording! I wanted to try the Direct XLR output on the back of the amp but we ran out of time as his kids were off to bed. We recorded thru a mixer and into his computer. I used a little Delay on the Fender amp..... there is a few settings on the DSP effects that i like... I was using the Phaser for Zeppelin's Ten Years Gone and it sounded great!!!! i need to learn how to play Achilles Last Stand!!!!
Well i was surprised anyways.....
