Good point. It just might considering the reviews of it and all. I like the colors offered but yes, a couple more would be nice.

At least since the pre-CBS era.

I had the chance to finally try one. Played a couple chords and a few quick licks on it and handed it back to the guy. Not in disgust but because had I played it any longer I would have gotten myself in to a whole lot of trouble. :laugh2:

It needs to be in Surf Green :)

When I was looking at Strats, and eventually got the Classic Series one, the EJ was the first one I tried, and it was incredible...the V-shape neck on that made me never able to use the modern C-shape again :laugh2:

If you put the best pre CBS 57 strat next to an EJ strat, I think the majority of players would prefer the EJ. It's so difficult to say a new product is the most perfect strat ever made, especially since you're putting them next to the best of the 50's, but after handling and playing almost every Fender strat model, I'd stamp my name on that statement. I actually think EJ's reworking of the classic model is the final evolution of the vintage Fender. I only wish they'd run with it, and introduce the EJ 62 rosewood fretboard strat, and also a couple of Teles. Eric would make a fortune on the royalties, and Fender could have the Eric Johnson Line of guitars that outperform all the vintage-spec Fenders.
