Theres this Hendrix signature fender strat thing otu now I think. There's supposed to be only 375 of them made. You could also try and get your hands on a Slash signature LP amp. There are only 77 Slash guitars I think.

That's awesome! I can't tell you how many times I've seen nice gear sell for pretty cheap (but I didn't have any money at the time to invest). You know the market already, now you'll just be making bigger gains (provided you don't get attatched... that's your job and your life on the line

Just out of interest, any kind of ballpark margin that you'd expect to make on your $100,000 in a year?
Do you get hit by any kind of tax in California, or is it fine with private buying & selling

I think of this opportunity as more of a part time hobby, which I have now, but on a much larger scale, with more dollars involved. I don't think I'd go into details, but money orders are a beautiful thing. :wink:
If you use a hobby like this as a supplementary income, which so many do
on Ebay, it's much easier money than any extra job. In the past few months,
I've made around $2500, just finding cool stuff and selling it on harmony,
here, recycler.com, and Ebay. Maybe only 4 simple transactions, with THAT
much profit. My boss has plenty of money, as does all his business partners.
Imagine a part time hobby of buying guitars for $2500-$50,000, and actually moving them for a 35% profit, which I split 50/50 with the investor who has
100% of the risk.
You never know, you could make a business like that fulltime, if you can truly locate highly desireable pieces and move them within a couple months.
Think about all those high-dollar live auctions that end with buyers.
Someone's making that money. Dang, I sound like an Amway salesman! :smack:

awesome man!! Too bad you don't live in texas, there's some good opportunities coming up at claptons auction... not just claptons guitars, but a signed BB king guitar, a signed Pete townshend signature, and one of brian may's les pauls....
actually, come to think of it, that part is in new york... so its pretty far either way.

Yeah, I'm still looking for the drug to cure my gear jones too. I would never succeed in what you're getting into. If I had the same opportunity my family would be forced out of our home because guitars and amps would be crowding every room. :laugh2:Gearjoneser said:

I think I'd rather just have a couple guitars that I really like than a bunch of guitars I don't get to keep a hold of...haha
That's not to say I would pass up the opportunity to do what you're doing though...just thinkin of sitting a Strat in my lap that's older than my dad...nevermind, I'm DEFINITELY jealous.
