The DD is a good p-u but very compressed , it is not suitable for fast shredding .

I disagree completely. The Distortion is an excellent shredding pickup. It stays tight in the bass for those fast, high gain, heavy riffs and it stays clear in the treble for those fast, high gain, shred leads (especially with a DDn). Plus, with all the artificial harmonics you can get out of it by merely looking at your guitar the right way, its a shredders dream pickup.

i think i have made up my mind after trying all these dimarzio's and duncans
i feel that the DD gives me all the things i liked about those others plus it has that cool as hell lynch signature to it!
ya know when he digs in on the leads with DOKKEN like "paris is burning" or "tooth and nail" the things just screams Bloody murder and it has without a doubt the meanest most snarling harmonics thar is even more then a 81!
it responds to my touch best as well.
I agree with TRAVIS who has from day one said "it is the best metaling riffing pup there is":beerchug:
and much to my suprise its clean to is not all that bad?:)

It is very good for heavy stuff but fast licks are a bit blur 'cause of compression , attack is not neat , clear and fast .
Very good splitted as well , like a hot telecaster bridge .
