I know, it's like the boy who cried wolf but I've nailed everything down. Even the design. :D

BTW Beer$, I do post a lot of these. :27: <-sarcasm

The little Jazzmaster designer mabobber doesn't support uploadable pickgurads. Nor would it work as the one I found is a picture of a strat guard.

Neck from Musikraft
-All Cocobolo - Cocobolo doesn't require finish. Correct me if I'm wrong.
-Surf Green stock
-Medium C
-6230 wire
-Dual Acting truss. Adjustable at the head
-CBS 69 stock

Body
Fiberglass Jazzmaster body from Slade :smokin:
Surf Green
Paisley pickguardrouted H-x_H
J-master trem and bridge

Asthetics
-all red knobs and pickups. Including the roller knobs. :D
-Chickenhead knobs
-2 roller knobs on upper bout

Electronics
-Big D varitone in place of the second tone
-CRL 3-way switch
-No slide switch
-Cloth Wire
-2 500K roller pots from guitarelectronics.
-1 500k normal pot on lower bout
-1 .044 Hovland Musicap
-2 Airline-esque single coils-that look like humbuckers from our very own Low-fi. He's been experimenting lately and aparrently he's pretty close.

I think that's it. I'm pumped. The funny thing is: ever since I started wanting a parts guitar this has been my basic color scheme. Surf Green/Pink Paisley guard/red knobs and pickups. :smack:

I don't think I'm gonna put a poll on this one. I'm pretty set.

BTW Dangly: I'm thinking red f-hole backdrops are in order. You can do those in Krylon. Just make sure to send me the areosol can so I can get the same color!

All cocobolo neck!? I think it will balance out rather well with the more bright sounding fibre body tonewise and it will look absolutely awesome(doesn't need finish), but it might become the ultimate defintion of neck heavy.
Apart from that it should become a great axe.

Would it be? How heavy is Cocobolo? that and I think anything would be. It's going to be semi-hollow so that will add to the problem. I'll just have to get a bigger strap and never let go of my neck. :laugh2:

Re: I don't want any crap for posting this!

So are all the parts ordered yet?

I don't have the money for the neck which will the first thing bought. So, no none of the parts are ordered yet. Well I guess the pickups are since I'm getting those for free. I want to have everything planned out before I buy anything. That and by decree of Slade I'm not allowed to buy anything until he starts and gets to the point where I need to

Here's the thing. I'm have a relatively low amount of income. Ergo it's going to take a while. I'm thinking about selling my recently bought Teisco to help raise enough funds for the neck and the paint. Plus I'd have to get the bridge and tremelo, which is $80. I could probably get close to 250-270 for the Teisco. Come to think of it I think I'll make a thread about it to check how much the peeps here on the forum think it's worth.

Cocobolo is a rosewood species so it will probably be about the same weight as a solid rosewood neck(= really heavy). I don't know if the awesome figuring substracts or adds to the weight but it's not gonna be light by any means.
But yeah, with a semi-hollow fibre body anything would result in some neck heavyness.
As for a strap: get a slapstrap
They are expensive but i have the 10cm version for my six-string bass(made of hard and heavy woods) and that straps keeps the whole thing from moving even the smallest bit. The inside is suede and has the right grip. The rest of the strap looks classy and is very comfortable.

Thanks for the heads up! I had never thought of the neck heavy-ness of the all rosewood neck.

Re: I don't want any crap for posting this!

I have an all rosewood neck that isn't much heavier than all maple. I didn't really notice much difference comparing it to a maple neck without tuners, before the tuners were installed on the RW neck. Just going with light weight tuners could make up any diffrence.

Make sure your not allergic to cocobolo.

I think it`s kinda waste of time to do all this planning if you don`t have the cash !!
G.a.s will hit you several times before you get the money for this one :)

I never have the money at the time I start planning things or even start thinking about them.

Besides, I don't have anything better to do. Why not do it? It may be a waste of time but I've got time to waste.

It`s all cool bro :)
I do plannings all the time myself but, by the time i get the cash to get it started i allways land on something else :D
As you can see in my other thread i`v been waiting for a neck to complete my latest project and to be honest i had almost forgot about it...hahah
Nowadays i`M too busy building my own studio, recording with my band designing the coverart etc...:)

Re: I don't want any crap for posting this!

I'm your biggest proponent Cream. I say go for it! Do it now (or whenever you can afford it)! I'm still not set on the paisley, but we'll see. Even if you don't like that, you can always change it realitively cheap. But the wood and neck sound awesome, do that now!

Nice going Cream. :)
