This is true. Any frets polish up to be slick and fast. You'll probably never need a re-fret no matter how much you play.Haven't played the neck yet, so stay tuned. Warmoth says there should be negligible tone difference with stainless steel frets; the big difference will be durability.
Well, since Aceman is teasing, I figure I'll give the goods. SHE'S DONE!!!

I thought about signing the headstock, giving myself a literal "signature Strat", but with it unfinished, I'm worried about bleed along the grain. Just the dots I used to mark pilot holes spiderwebbed quite a bit on the maple (not enough to show after actually drilling, though).
The big delay was with the string trees. The very last step of the whole thing, before setup that is, and the screw for the second tree twisted off in the wood. I panicked for about five seconds, then hit the Web looking for a replacement that would cover the hole. I found these fairly large roller trees that did the trick, but a shipment SNAFU had me waiting all week for what was supposed to be a two-day Prime package.
But, they finally showed up, they went on without a hitch, and now she's complete. Now I just need a case, I have a thing about wanting a case for all my instruments, even though they spend most of their time on wall hangers (if not in my hands). I've had my eye on the WolfPak polyfoam soft-side case for a few guitars now, and I think with this one it's finally justifiable. I have a RoadRunner polyfoam case for my main bass, and it works really well to protect better than a gig bag without the extra weight of the ABS shell, but having just the carry handle can be irritating when I'm trying to load a ton of stuff in or out. The WolfPak case is basically a polyfoam gig bag, with backpack straps, as well as huge pockets for binders/music folders which means one less thing in my hands.
