I Hate V's, So Why Am I Drawn To This One?

Re: I Hate V's, So Why Am I Drawn To This One?

See... life is so much better when you're not hating things.

I love most guitars, the understanding that I can't own and master all of them makes me focus my interest on a limited number of brands but the worst thing that I can say about a guitar is that it's not my style.

I also love all women and can't say I hate any of them but yeah, there are constraints there that make me focus on a very limited number as well...

Just my 2 cents... :cool2:

In my opinion if you're buying a Flying V you ain't planning on sitting! That guitar is made for the stage!

About the sitting:

there is (was?) a manufacturer which makes a simple foldout metal piece. You screw it to the bottom of the V, and it folds out into a piece of metal sticking some 60 degree out, so that you create something for your leg to rest in.

I never used it, I've seen it when I had a V in the 80ties. I imagine that you lose big time if you put it into the wrong spot.

This always baffles me and brings up an interesting poll perhaps. Just how many people *sit* and play their guitars most of the time?

I hardly EVER sit down and play a guitar except in the guitar shop when I'm trying something out. I might sit and play one for a couple minutes here and there, but it's certainly not common.

I sit and play all the time.

I also stand and play all the time.

I sit at home when I'm in front of my computer recording stuff. I stand at practice and our myriad shows, of course.

I don't find it any harder/easier to play in either position.

I like Vs a LOT. Always thought that J Geils looked cool playing one. And then there's KK Downing, Lonny Mack, Jimi played one on occasion, and my faves Michael & Rudy Schenker.... I think you need it!
