I hate walking away from a great amp deal but...

The last time I used it, it was noisy. My Marshall have been acting finicky, so I have been using the Carvin for rehearsals. It sounds glorious. I am going to play with the line out a bit more, to see if I can get it quiet. I might use the Carvin @ 25w in the studio if I can.

Yeah, when these came out, it was before the whole "line out with speaker and mic modeling' thing. I would think it is just direct from the preamp.

The 50 watt V3 Carvin heads alway made me shudder

It's power switch went 50/25/7

i love my Belair
It only Has a volume knob
and it whisper quiet or window rattling loud

and what tube amp sounds good at less than half up?

You might kick yourself again. When you said you don't need another large amp, were you talking about size or wattage? If wattage the X100B has a switch to go from 25, 50 or 100 watts.

That's a post 1986 Carvin X-100 B, for sure !!!!
After I got the amp dialed in right, my bandmates called the X-100 B, " The JCM 800 Killer " , because it replaced my Marshall JCM 800.
