I have a 3 humbucker guitar and need help

Re: I have a 3 humbucker guitar and need help

alright that makes sense. will there be a ground thing on my guitar already? and if so what does it look like/is it just wood(i dont think so)?

On the switch? It looks to be a soldered wire.

On the bottom right? Ground

A ground can pretty much anything you want, as long as it ultimately gets back to the sleeve terminal of the output jack. I just use the lug on the output jack, but the convention is to use the back of a pot, or both.

You just want to make sure that all your grounds are connected together, including the wire that should come from your bridge.

none of both... it means the same as "solder to ground"Actually... the symbol means ground, but when a wire ends with that symbol, it means solder to ground
Beat me to it!

The blue line on the switch is a jumper. You need to connect those two terminals together with a short piece of wire.

kommerz is correct on the other. Its just the universal symbol for "ground". Like your bridge plate and foil lining, (if you use it), stuff like that all connects there.
So did you!

OK! I think ive got it. I drew it up in a way that i understand a lil better...does it look right to you? Annnddd.....do u know how i would fit the battery into this?

Re: I have a 3 humbucker guitar and need help

It looks good except for one thing: if we assume that you're looking at the back of the pots, you have them all reversed. Leave the center lugs as you have them, but swap the outside two around on all of them.

I completely forgot that you were using EMG's. :smack:

You'll still have to incorporate the power wiring into that diagram. Its not difficult, but I'll need to draw it up. Gimme a minute. ;)

Re: I have a 3 humbucker guitar and need help

Ok, I guess it's not a big deal. You'll just need to use a stereo output jack, and wire up the EMG power-ground wire to it according to the instructions that come with the pup. It shouldn't be too difficult.

We can walk you through it if need be.
