I have a simple question for ya...

Did Seymour Duncan make a SH-5 Custom and SH-11 Custom Custom for the NECK position?
I just won an auction for them. The seller says that's what the sticker says on the back of the pickups. The Seymour Duncan "Tone Chart" doesn't list them.
Did I get ripped off?
Thanks,

As far as I know those are bridge-only models. I think Hamer was making a guitar that had a Custom in the neck and a CustomCustom in the bridge so maybe your seller just got confused.

Re: I have a simple question for ya...

The Custom, Custom Custom, and Custom 5 are all the same pickup with different magnets. They are all high output and made for the bridge only, there is no neck version.

That said, some people may have used them in the neck. I know for fact that Hamer put a Custom in the neck and a CC in the bridge of some models. Same goes for the JB.

ALso, regarding your daughter's chambered Epi LP, I think either the Custom (tighter, more treble, more punch) or the CC (smoother, fatter, creamier) would work well in the bridge and the 59 would be great in the neck (even if it's a bridge version).

Great:mad:
I called the guy and he said that was what was on the sticker on the back of the pickups. They have nickel covers on them and I can see from the photos that they have the Duncan logo stamped into the base plates. I'll just have to wait until they get here and see. I'll post some pics.

Okay, I just got these pickups in the mail.
Sure enough, SH-5N and SH-1B. The SH-11 has no suffix so I'm going to have to Ohm it out and compare it to the Tone Chart on the SD website.
Duncan says they were made in their Custom Shop.
Thanks again for the help all.

One little thing to keep in mind, if you order an SH-1 with 4-conductor wire, it comes in a Custom Shop box. Its not really "custom" in the normal sense. Same thing with the "tapped" singles.
