Re: I Hope It Made You Cry (Rockabilly...ish)
I definitely hear the clipping; I'm still adjusting to Audition and I can't seem to find a master volume control to turn the whole mix down. I think that would address at least part of that problem.
I hadn't noticed the drum/guitar balance issue you mention, but I've been neck deep in this damn song for days now and have lost most of my fresh-ear points of reference. I'm taking tonight off from recording, but I'll go back and listen for that in a day or two. I probably did push the drums too ahrd, as I found early on that when they got buried, the song lost energy, so I kept pushing them up...
I like what you said about the authenticity. I'd love to say that I'm this sloppy ON PURPOSE, but that's not quite the case. But I didn't go out of my way to de-slop this one, as I wanted it to sound as much as possible like a band playing together, sort of live-in-the-home-studio and when I close my eyes, I cna almost imagine that that's what I'm hearing. Almost.
Anyway, thanks both for listening and for the tips on where I might make some adjustments.
