Honestly, you did get something good with that case. Those are super nice. The guitar is meh, generally. I have a philosophy about guitar price levels. You go to the bottom of the barrel, and your 'hit rate' of getting a good guitar is low. Step up in price, and you increase your hit rate of getting a really good guitar. The problem with the affinity stuff is the tuners are junky, the bridge is junky, the electronics are junky. You will spend a lot upgrading. If you have a good neck, getting a used pull body or a USACG or some such body with some real nice wood would be financially similar, and you're more likely to get a great guitar in the end.
It's your money, you spend it how you want! All this is just my opinions, and my experience.
