Wow... 8 guitars? I thought you changed your user name to Docrock to "Do Crack".
You've got a smart idea. Get killer pawn shop finds and sell them to make a profit to fund something better. That's how Gearjoneser got to where he is today (with full Marshall Silver Jubilee stacks, a Bogner Ecstasy, Matchless Chieftain and more).
I'm struggling to keep the numbers down myself. I have 4 guitars: an Epi LP, Dean Chafin Del Sol, G&L Skyhawk and Don Grosh Bent Top Custom. I just purchased one more actually today, an Ovation 1771LX A/E (can't wait until that arrives :32: ).
Whatever you do, stay away from alternate tunings, they WILL encourage you to buy more than you need. I need around 3 guitars to work out my different tunings without too much of a wait live. I definitely need to condense down before my gear takes over my bedroom! (it's everywhere, like that ad in the guitar magazines where one room was covered with different models of guitars).

Yes, they are not all for me to keep, but I have become a serious gear hustler in the last 8-9 months. Even if I can make a 50 on something I just get it and move it. Thats how I paid for the Epi custom which is one of my keepers, Ive also bought about 20 peices of home audio gear this week too. I thought I was gonna have to come home and change it to 9 today, but I let a sweet Epi SG stay at the pawn shop, Im trying to save for saturday, a gear show/swap meet is coming to town. I wanna have a H U G E wad of cash for that!

I've got 5 electrics (check my sig) and I barely play the best 3, which are on top of the list. It is hard to me to dedicate this beauties the time they dererve . I think I'll be selling the Dano very soon and I'll be keeping the Ibanez cause It has a sentimental value. But 3 guitars are more than enought to cover all ground...
