I just can't decide on new pup for my VHT/Engl Setup

Hey guys -

I just picked up a new/used DK2 in Red Swirl to gig with.
My rack set up is a VHT 2/50/2. Engl e530 pre and a G-Major 2.
The DK2 has DD pups and I def. want something else in the bridge.

We (LIFTER) play mostley hard rock/metal covers. Pearl Jam to Metallica - Sabbath to Tool...STP, AIC's

The VHT/Engl set up is pretty metal already and very focused like a brick sometimes. I want something passive that will give me a awesome hard rock metal tone thats big and full and articulate yet the cleans are....well clean :)

Custom 5. Ojk I'll check it out. Anyone else have a suggestion?

I'd go for the ceramic Custom over the Custom 5. But I'm gonna check out the Dimarzio Crunch Lab and D Sonic for my VHT SigX.

Ok - I decided to try a Custom Custom in the bridge. We'll see how it goes!

Custom Custom isn't what was recommended.

Ceramic Custom is Regular Custom, SH-5/TB-5. (You want the TB-5.)

make a custom 8 from the Sh-5 custom (lower resistance than the other customs)
it can do clear un hissy death metal all the way down to vintage country blues.

I think you'll like that. Some complain that this pick up doesn't have enough bass but ENGL amps usually have more than enough tight low end to compensate.
