I Just Realized.....

I've never played a Fender amp.

NEVER......not even trying one out!

All of the Tweed/5E3/Super/Blackface/Silverface/Cyber Twin crap is greek to me.

Sure, I know what a good Fender is supposed to sound like, but owning 4 Teles & a Strat, I'm surprised that I never played one.

I was wonderring if anyone else has never played a staple piece of gear, for whatever reason.....and what might it be?

I've never played a Vox either......

I think a big problem is I don't come along a lot of older amps in the stores I frequent & I've never bothered with the new Fenders.

I hear you, but not about the Fender amps. Though there are many cool ones that I've never played thru. There are far too many brands that I haven't plugged into yet, but that is due mainly to the lack of options in the music stores in my immediate area.

There is a cool mom & pop shop just I frequent, but it's mainly for repairs.

They sell stuff there, but most of the cool stuff you see is waiting to get looked at or picked up.

Some day I'll see what all the hub bub is.........

For now, the Fuchs will have to do

:laugh2: That reminds me, I gotta change my sig...I sold that amp..

The really nice thing about the lead12 is that I only paid $75 for cheap practice amp tone...you're gonna pay a whole lot more for a Vox to get that sound

You aren't alone, my friend. Here's all the stuff I've never EVER tested:

-Fender amps.
-Mesa Boogie amps.
-ENGL, Bogner, Diezel and all that European kick-ass stuff.
-Laney amps.
-Anything between 1x12 combos and a 4x12 halfstack. Never tried a 4x10, 2x12 or other combinations.
-Telecasters.
-Hollowbodies.
-Anything with active pickups. Livewires, EMGs...
-Anything with decent single coil pickups. I DIE for testing a good Strat...
-A Gibson Les Paul. I did test an old Ibanez Les Paul knockoff a few months ago, which was amazing. And of course I've tried Epiphones...

That's about it. I'd do anything!! to be able to test some of that stuff, but it's not easy to get a hang of it here in Chile... Mesa-Boogie stuff is virtually non-existant.

There's definetly something wrong with you...it's impossible not to play a Fender amp! I highly suggest you go try one whenever you can, you're missing out!

I've never touched the Mesa/Boogies or guitars with active pickups at Guitar Center...doubt I ever will.

I haven't plugged into anything made by the Digitech/DOD company since 1991, and I don't feel I've missed out on anything but hiss and bumblebee tone. :laugh2:

I have a '68 Bassman head, and it is fun! Right now I'mm using it through a 2x12 Sonic Vox style cab loaded w/Eminence Redcoat Private Jacks, but it also sounds great w/other spkrs!
