I Just Realized.....

Re: I Just Realized.....

When you think about it...your Edana is basicly a '59 Bassman with some changes in the electronics, so by bending the rules a bit, we can say you've played a Fender amp before ;)

we're changing your name to Johnny Cochran. "if the circuit fits, your playing must not quit!"

No matter how close a JTM-45 and a 5F6-A Bassman might be on paper those amps sound very, very different to my ears...and before anybody asks YES, I have actually played a read 59 tweed Bassman and a real 60's JTM -45 next to each other...

That doesn't surprise me at all: different speakers, different tubes ... I'm sure I'm forgetting some other things.

I've never played a Soldano, an Orange, or anything that could be considered "boutique". As far as amps go, I'm pretty sure I've tried everything else essential at one point or another.

Definetly true, as ratherdashing said, different speakers, tubes, changes in the circuits, but they are similar amps nonetheless.

Re: I Just Realized.....

I have you all beat... Not only have I never played a fender amp in my 3 years of guitar playin, but I've never played a marshall either!

I've only used peavey stuff... If I had money I'd have a tweed altho.

Re: I Just Realized.....

The only 2 Fender amps I've ever tried are a Hot Rod Deville and (What I think was) a Deluxe Reverb at UGD UK.

I'd never played a proper AC30 until yesterday. My friend has 3 of them, so I went round and played guitar for a few hours :D

:laugh2: god, when i heard about that i was laughing..

i've not played a mesa at high volume before, which might explain why i was fairly indifferent.. not played a VOX either..

i used to practice like every week in a room with a JMP 50 half stack.. and i've been wanting one ever since :D

I own two Mesas and an AC30. Book a flight and c'mon over.

True....and the Fuchs is basically a highly tweaked Fender too.

Everything I've used can get very "Fender-like", but it just surprised me to realize I never even tried one.

I've tried a handful of modellers (POD, SansAmp PSA-1, variety of others...) that had great Fender patches, but I never bothered plugging into an actual Fender.

Some day I'll stumble across one.........

Nah, it wasn't me. It died a set or 2 after I/Mr Wolf had played :)
