I know how to accessorize! LOL

Re: I know how to accessorize! LOL

I quite liked the simple Crate badge but this looks cool too. When are you popping the speaker in?

I liked the crate badge as well
As cool as the decal looks
As soon as you cut away for the speaker it just didn't anymore

Crate badge will still be on it, just took it off to finish it up. I'll have it all done at some point this evening.

Dude, that is awesome.

As for the ext jack cutting off the internal speaker. Just run jumpers from the two unused tabs of the speaker itself, to a new jack and then make sure the impedance with the two speakers works out right.

Definitely no beaming problem from that cab. Soundclips please.

It looks really cool, dude. Nice job.
It seems the YouTube link isn't working though.

Re: I know how to accessorize! LOL

Hmm I see the video just fine and it should be public?

LoFi I think that'll give me an impedence mismatch unfortunately. I have 2 - 16ohm speakers but the amp can only handle 16 ohms.

Running the Orange is fine by me but now I need a stand again muahahahaha

Sorry, vid works now. Sounds ok but tough to tell based on phone mic and no comparison.

Re: I know how to accessorize! LOL

Had a party to play last night and it was a hit! I added a beer bottle opener on the side so it is uber-functional now :friday:

I got orders for 3 of them last night, guess I stumbled on to something. Sound wasn't bad it needs a little tweaking which I figured would be the case. It doesn't let enough bottom end out especially when I cranked it up, it kind of almost made everything sound like a Rockman, a little too compressed.
Otherwise I couldn't be happier with it.

Re: I know how to accessorize! LOL

well you have options to correct the impedance problem, if you run the internal speaker and this cab on parallel you can add an 8ohm bobbin on series (you can wire it with a switch to make the change tween normal and with the cab modes easier)

Re: I know how to accessorize! LOL

I put in a panel across the inside top and that seemed to cure a bunch of the sonic issues.

What I'd also like to do is take a router and make some 3/8" slots across the face of the front slats to let more air out that way. I think that'll help the low end a bit.

Re: I know how to accessorize! LOL

The problem with the low end is due to the open back. Put a full or even 3/4 back on it and you will hear a difference.

There is so much awesome in this thread. What a cool project. Talk about taking a brand back to their roots. :D
