Just thought someone might find this interesting... I built a fully functional true bypass relay looper pedal with an led indicator... in an altoids container...

OH YEAH!I just rewired the guts of it... Now it's clean and organized...

This is what it looked like when I first made it...

oh man! i was thinking 'looper' as in a delay looper...its still cool, although peppermint has better tone.

That's cool....Pat yourself on the back for a success story that you did yourself....The coolest part of modding and building pedals!

I have one of those pedals and a drawing from one I built several years ago but sans the relay...

I made a fuzz pedal in high school and I never knew what to put it in. I think I've found it now.

Pretty cool! Those little altoids tins are pretty handy, I use them for battery boxes for my stealth mics :)

THIS is vault-worthy! This has to be one of the best ideas I have seen around here. Do you know how much small project boxes cost at Radio Shack? - probably 3 or 4 times the price of this tin, AND you get some mints thrown in for the deal.

The only thing that would make this thread better is if you posted the schematic for the bypass loop.

Anyway... I was so inspired by this - I took a long coffee break and went to Target - bought a small tin of Altoids peppermint gum. I want to build a simple belt pack with just two 1/8" TRS plugs for my in-ear monitors and an extension cord. I also bought a cell phone belt pack to hold the mint tin. This should work perfectly!

Thanks again HolyDirt for the inspiration... I agree - you are a genius!

Thanks guys! I'm at school right now, but I'll post the schematic I used when I get home.

VERY VERY COOL ! :beerchug:

I just popped an Altoid in my mouth before logging on ...now I need to find something to do with the tin besides holding change in the car

Re: I made a Looper Pedal... Out of an Altoids Container

There's also a portable headphone amp (HI-FI, not like a Rockman) project out there that is often built into those tins called a CMOY. I've never seen this before, though. Do you have some kind of support under the stomp switch to keep the lid from caving in and or shorting out?
