I need a new neck pickup....

hi all

i'm looking for a new neck pickup. ive got a 2005 epiphone les paul. the stock pickup sounds really thin. i like to play singing leads à la slash but the sound that it gives is too thin, the note does not sustain and it loses a lot of its body very very quickly.

i'm looking for a creamy, bluesy sound that will make the guitar sing. if possible, i'd like it to have an adequate clean sound and also not muddy up if i play power chords. my neck pickup is rated 17k and this is putting me off the alnico pro II that slash uses because there is a significant difference in power. should that put me off, though?

any recommendations would be great

I dont think it should put you off! Just get the Alnico II pro IMO!

either way, A2P will sort you nicely.. maybe jazz, if you're playing a lot of chords?

Get an Alnico II Pro for your Epi. While you're at it, change the pots to 500k CTS units and the caps to .022mfd Orange Drops.


Oh yeah, slap an Alnico II Pro in the bridge, too.
