this new head is crazy!!! i've been reading the 64 page manual and it's making my brain hurt!!!

128 presets...26 effects...resonance knob...presence knob...t-dynamics knob...it can change from 4/8/16/ohms...pre amp gain...post gain...master volume...true stereo operation...an ability to add more presets via a ram slot...etc!!! :banghead: :banghead: :wall: :smack:
there's too many dag gum buttons, switches, and gizmos on this thang!!! LOL!!!

all i need is a bass, mid, treble, volume, reverb, and gain buttons...lol!!!

i feel like i'm in starfleet academy with this thing...it even has some kind of Global button...i think that means i can literally change the earth's axis if i press it!? :22: :smack:

it's gonna take awhile to get used to it all...and i'm definitely going to need the midi-pedal that you can get for it...but it's till selling for $100 bucks on the bay!!! oh well...i found a decent preset for my tak last night...i think i've figured out how to tweak it a bit now...i hope!?

Stick with it Mike.....find a good clean, dirty & one for the acoustic....save your pennies & get what you REALLY want!!!

yeah...the $350 bucks part...lol...i couldn't pass that up and plus it helped out a friend.

anyways...i'll get used to it...and yeah...i'm still gonna get a Fandango head too...one of these days...!?
it's not making things any easier that all i have to play through it right now is my takamine...lol...but that will change soon too!

Sorry, what brand and model it's the head?

It's normal it's a bit confusing at the begining. But if you get used to it may be you can pretty decent tones out of it... Some digital modeling amps (Line 6, Vetta, Cyber Series) are famous for its good tones and versatility.

I hear ya' there T4D....I guess you missed the earlier thread. I think he plans on keeping the cab & eventually selling the head for something he really wants.

Keeping the cab & selling the head is kind of like getting a 4x12 for free....unless that too turns out to be a pain!!!! :smack:

Atleast by then, he'll have some aspirin!!!!! :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :burnout:

I don't have your problems; my amp has two controls, Volume and Tone.

yeah...it's a slot for ram cartridges for even more presets :smack: and then the other buttons are for scrolling, storing, and editing presets and effects and etc.

and yeah...i'll definitely be getting another head...which i might sell this one in order to buy...as soon as i see what they're going for on the bay...i saw one on there that GC was selling for $669...but they pulled their auction...i wanna see a couple sell first then i can get an idea of what it's worth and then i'll decide if i wanna sell it or just keep it (to explore when bored or to take over the world...lol) and buy another head outright...?!

Sounds like a class in Peavey 101 is in order on this one!!!!

I looked the other day on E-bay to see what they were going for & couldn't find any.....I would guess putting it up there with a $300.00 starting bid would atleast help ya' break even! :33: :scratchch :dunno:

true...i'll give the thing a fair shot though...and definitely wait until my Tele is finished and see what it sounds like throught it first...i mean i guess i shouldn't knock it until i've really put on the thick glasses and labcoat myself and see what it's really all about!?

i still crave tubes though... :32: :32: :32: yummy, glowing, tuuuuubes! LOL!!!

i know for the money a classic 50 or 100 head would be good...but i really wanna compare some other amps to the Riveras such as Dr. Zs...Genz-Benzs...Mesas...Soldanos...THDs...etc

i think its gonna be a pain at first but once u get the feel for it its gonna be worth it plus ur gonna be a lot more knowledgable with amp settings after u get a hang of it and for 350$ any somewhat descent sound coming out of it makes it worth it
