Hi, im new to this forum and i need help improving my tone. I have a ESP neck-through M-2 (alder body, maple neck, ebony fretboard, origional floyd rose trem, 500k volume pot). Right now im using a sh-1 '59 in the neck and a distortion trembucker in the bridge. I use heavy strings (11-56) that are tuned down to D
I play neoclassical medal, power medal, shread, heavy medal, ect...
The distortion is too trebbly for me. I want something warmer, and tight low end with a good amount of mids. Im happy with my sh-1 '59
I was thinking maybe a JB (like the tone wizard on the SD site reccomends) or maybe a Custom custom
Can someone please help me?

You'll probably like the Custom Custom better than the JB. The JB is a great pickup, but when I had it in my Jackson (same specs as your guitar) it was often too "bright" sounding through a lot of amps due to the upper-mid spike. I never tried it with a 250K pot, so that might tame it enough.

To me, the JB and 59 matched really well, so if you can cut those upper mids a bit you might like it. I'd suggest a 250K pot if you get the JB. The CC would be better suited with the 500K.
