i need help urgently

i cant understand how the schematic translates into actual wiring. its making me so angry and frustrated cuz i dont have the money to get someone to do it. this is the schematic im trying to read http://www.seymourduncan.com/website/support/schematics/hum_sing_sing_1vol_1tone_5w.htm i have a 3 way and a 5 way switch. but the 5 way has 2 different rows with 12 tabs on each row. here is a picture of the switch i have.http://shop.timwebworks.com/bg_usr1/assets/product_images/miscgear/mvc-525f.jpg does anyone know how to wire this up?

idk bro, i think you dont need that super switch......it would be much easier with a standard 5 way switch......... but let some others chime in

Hey popples; So, basically, you have an HSS guitar, with 1 vol, and 1 tone, right?

And you just want straight forward operation? Nothing fancy?

Greens are ground, except that the single's generally have black grounds, and white hots. The humbucker has black hot, and green ground. If your humbucker is two conductor, ignore the red/white wire.

And, all bare, or braided wires go to ground also. Which could be the back of a pot, and the ground lug of the output jack.

If you don't see text between the switch and the putput jack pic, hit F5 on your browser to refresh the screen. I made a change to the pic.

I just noticed here that you said "3-way switch". Did you actually mean 3-way, or did you mean 5-way? It would be unusal to use a 3-way with 3 pickups. It can be done, but it would be unusual. You'ld have at least one pickup on all the time.

i do mean 3 way....this is the switch from a 52 ri tele. i accidentally bought a 5 way super switch which i now want to use but dont know how to wire that up either. thanx for the diagram tho dude its just wat i needed in order to just get the thing wired at all.

Ok, cool, but just keep in mind, that a 3-way switch and a superswitch will both be different than the switch in my diagram. A 3-way is only designed for 2 pups, and a superswitch will be wired completely differently.

Let me know if you need any more help with using one of those, and I can revamp the diagram. ;)

umm i only have the kind of 3 way switch thats shipped stock with the 52ri tele. is there any way you can make me one showing the 5 way superswitch? i just thought about the fact that my 3 way was built for 2 pickups...is it at all possible to use the 3 way i have so that i have 1 pos for each pickup?

No. Unfortunately, a 3-way, only has two "switched" terminals. There are some interesting things you can do with 3 pickups, and a 3-way switch, but you may not want to get "weird". For instance, use the 3-way to switch the neck and bridge, then add a push/pull pot to bring in the middle at any time. Then you could have some unusual pup selections:

neck
neck & middle
neck & bridge
neck & middle & bridge
middle & bridge
bridge

The only thing you couldn't have, was middle by itself.

i dont mean to be a **** but i need to get this done cuz i have a gig i havent even started practicing for which is on the 22nd. i need to get this guitar wired so if u can do it as soon as possible ur be my ultimate savior.

thats exactly it..my came with a tele and a strat tip and it was fender brand.

Ok, try this:

Since its hard to see the terminals on that superswitch photo, I drew the little "switch-map" in the corner.

See how the neck goes to 2 terminals on one end of the group of 5.
The bridge goes to the 2 on the other end of that group.
The middle goes to the middle 3 terminals on the next group.

Both the "end-tabs" go together, and then to the volume control.

Let me know if any part of this doesn't make sense. ;)
