I need some cab ideas for my ammo can amp......

I currently am using my 1x10 TV Front tweed cab and it sounds amazing, but obviously it doesnt match well, plus I need the 1x10 for my Champ. I am not a very creative dude so I need some help coming up with a 1x12 cab that would sound awesome and look great with the ammo can and follow the whole vibe.

Any suggestions?

What about a couple of Jerry cans?? Not sure sure of the actual size of those old metal fuel cans but maybe you could them into 1 x 10's or even 1 x 12's

Find a crate that they used to ship rifles in. should make a good 4x10 or 2x12.

Dig up one of these old Crate cabinets and put a decent speaker in it.....

You can get a mortar or rocket fuse case and use that. It's roughly 7" x 14" x 21". Usually comes in brown, but you can buy camo paint to make it match whatever ammo can you like pretty much or you can just paint both cans.

I cut the hinges open on mine so I could take the lid completely off the box. Normally the lid has to stay on the box unless you cut them open. I welded the tabs in place and the hinges to make it so the pedal board itself would sit tight on the lid no matter what. Used bicycle chain links to screw down the pedals using their normal screw holes (not pictured).


This is how it looked when it arrived. I think it was an 82 mm rocket or mortar fuse case IIRC. Got it for about $20 I think.

I would go with something like this, just use a similar handle to the ammo can, and paint to match the ammo can. Put some writing in yellow on the sides as well.
Should be pretty easy to build it. Maybe even use one of the round metal grills like on car subs, or go full metal across the front.

Can the amp be sat up like the can was originally designed? If so get another, put a little wood reinforcement on the front, and mount an 8" in there like the boombox linked earlier in the thread.

A wooden crate would probably sound fine. I would worry about how a metal can would sound as a speaker enclosure, though.

I haven't been able to look into this very much, but the crates I am finding are HUGE! I want a smaller cab than the crates I have found so far. I will keep looking though.
