I need some help on a small practice amp for my daughter.

I was going to suggest the THR on my way in . Sounded incredible when I played it, I had no idea what was happening!

There has NEVER been a better time to buy used gear.
You can get some real decent, used, tube amps on Craigs List for a small fraction of their retail price. Depends how soon she needs the amp.
Of course, the same applies for used SS amps as well, but I was thinking like a used Jet City or VHT (after the Steve Fryette fiasco), or maybe one of the thousands of Fender Blues Juniors that have been sold (many of them modded to a better amp)
Anyway...might be worth your time to peruse the local CL and tell us what you see.
Wish you and the daughter were closer. We have all kinds of quality, used tube amps laying around.
good luck

YES! those $200 OP might put toward some cube crap or whatnot have even been known to get people TUBE HALFSTACKS sometimes....real ones, not 5-watters.

Not saying you want a 12yo with a halfstack, but it's like - hey - are you gonna buy that there puny lil iPod speaker thingy for that money, or would you rather get something that can scare grannies and drop landvalues in a 3-block radius???

I would get her either a Bugera V5, a Vox AC4 or a Blackstar HT-5. All 5W tube options that will sound good at bedroom practice levels but all can be had for $250 or less in case she decides shes not into it.
