I need your help!!

Can anybody tell me of some equipment/software to buy in order to start recording myself and make music using my PC? i dont wanna spend more than $100-$150 on it. i just wanna record some stuff and make music/songs.

I bought the Line 6 RiffTracker. It's just over your limit ($190 or so) but it's an easy way for a n00b like me to get his feet wet. Be warned, though, I've got my total cost up near $300 now from buying additional amp packs & drum patterns. It's not required, but it sure makes it more fun!
