I replaced the Roland JC 120's metal speakers with Eminence 12's and it sounds so much better now, in my opinion.
Most of the the harsh frequencies seem to have been tamed. If anyone is having issues with distortion pedals with this amp, try switching the speakers. I'm much happier now.
Only complaint is the hiss, but that is inherent in the circuitry of the amp, I think.
Anyway, just figured I'd mention it.
