I saw a Mark V today and is this a good price for one?

Re: I saw a Mark V today and is this a good price for one?

Eh. There's one ony local CL in perfect condition with a road case for 1800.

Re: I saw a Mark V today and is this a good price for one?

I'd say that's average used. I've seen them for as low as $1500 or $1600.

+1

Yah ok...I'm in Canada and even considering the little exchange rate I agree $1800 is average....Been keeping my eyes open for one too and as per the local ads I agree that is an average price.....

1800 obo w/ warranty until april here on CL, listing from Thousand Oaks CA

Re: I saw a Mark V today and is this a good price for one?

Think the CL ad said the dude got it for like 2350 or so... Add tax, so ~2600?

Re: I saw a Mark V today and is this a good price for one?

$2250 new for the head, $2350 ish for the combo.

$1800 is not bad. I'm probably going to sell mine in the new year (going with a Kemper rig) and my plan was to list it for $1750.

They are not that well regarded on Harmony Central. The MKiV is a lot better amp according to long time Boogie experts. Guess it's case of 'jack-of-all-trades, master of none' thing.

I had a chance to try one side by side with my Tri-Axis/2:90 in the summer. I prefer my Tri-Axis. I actually liked the clean and mid-gain tones on the Mark V (the Mark I mode is AWESOME) better than the distorted tones.

Harmony Central is full of idiots.

Putting Harmony Central and experts in the same paragraph (without anything indicating sarcasm) is pretty much the pinnacle of an oxymoron... With emphasis on the moron part...

Have you tried one? I haven't and I'm very curious about your opinion as you went through a lot of nice amps....

This is much kinder than the way I would have framed this essential truth....

I agree. If I were in the market for a new big/main amp I would snag one. The Chicago market seems to have them quite cheap. Here's one.

I saw a Mark V combo amp for a little over $1500 a few weeks back. Just nuts.

Da-Damn! That CL ad makes me want to drive to the Windy with cash and go see that! That's a no haggle price right there!
