I think I have decided on the LAST guitar

Not worried about the LP headstock joints here. Just keeping them out of the water.

Three of those are Maple necks. I was doing dive bomb neck bends on the 79 Cherryburst yesterday. They don't break.

Skinny@$$ 60's Mahogany...that is another story.

In all my GAS, all my jonesing, all my actual purchases - some deliberately, some by chance, I feel I may be done.

I've got a list of guitars I'm getting rid of, and I have my eye on one last final axe perhaps.

A member here can even confirm I did in fact contact them with intent to sell...

We'll see what happens. But this year's guitar could be the last.
I said the same last year when I picked-up my Ibanez SZ520QM.
But I'm intrigued by a PA-TB3/PA-STK1 set and a Dimarzio Super Distortion/whatever neck sets. Missing some guitars to try those ;)

I had not considered the need to "try this/that pickup" as time goes by. Perhaps I need to figure out which current guitar will be that swap-platform.

But honestly, I'm pretty settled in my pickups:
Distortions
Super Distortions
Pearly Gates
Custom

Those really get me through life overall...

No but I need a new one.

Here are 4 of the 5

All of these are gorgeous, but the burst on that Special is perfect! I wish that was the standard spray pattern for LPs instead of the teardrop.

I have a early 2000 LP special faded double cut, P90, very reliced by real use (owned by a Boston punk guitarist , I've been told, it's full of stickers), it looks filthy but it sounds and plays wonderful, that said it's just enough Gibson for me, I'm definitely a Fender type guy

Like every ancient rock band “final” tour, it never is…there is only one end to this road and that’s not even a sure thing…

P-90's is a Les Paul Studio GEM series. That one is called Topaz. I generally do NOT like that burst outline style and much prefer the tobacco on the left. However - with the black to red to amber...It just works for me. There is a flame down the middle that is sublime also. Very classy looking top IMO.

I still think that you need a Charvel.

I'm always looking at them. You may be right. Wouldn't be a shame if a Charvel was the last guitar. Maybe one of these?

San Dimas Slime Green, Model 6 in Firecrackle, or perhaps a Fusion in Orange?

yeah, if you do this, youll fall off the wagon and be neck deep in buying guitars again.

My wife has given me a hard limit on how many I'm allowed to have. Ergo, on how many I'm allowed to make. Or keep on making. There is not enough room in her opinion, so I guess I will really make my final guitar sooner rather than later.

Anyone in the market for a 3 humbucker LP with trem? :17:
