I think I'm sick...

Re: I think I'm sick...

I don't think I ever got sick before. I try to stay healthy all the time. I'm always thinking about gear. Hell I like the gear more then playing LOL. I study WAY more about gear then learning how to play better which is something I should absolutely reverse but not really LOL.

Re: I think I'm sick...

Fixed thd Gas issue.

Got a new bass head and Truetone Route 66 today, picked up a new mic earlier in the week. Gassing for studio monitors and a 1x15 cab for my bass rig now

Re: I think I'm sick...

I haven't gassed in a while myself. The last thing I was thinking of picking up was the new carbon copy. Seeing I haven't unpacked all of my gear and set it up yet I can not justify it. Right now I am playing the Lester direct into the Excelsior and am content with that 100%.

Re: I think I'm sick...

I've slowed down on pedals though. I've pretty much got the overdrive base covered, a couple of really good delays and a few good distortion pedals. I'm light on fuzzes and could use a few more modulations.

I think it's also mostly because I love my amp tone itself so much that other than an OD as a boost, I don't really need much in terms of dirt right now and haven't quite managed to figure out what works best with my amp yet from what I've already got.

And that could take years [emoji41]

Re: I think I'm sick...

Except I may order a 2nd Route 66 because I just know I'm going to love it on the guitar but I bought it for bass. I don't want the guitar rig to get jealous. :onder:

Re: I think I'm sick...

Funny thing. I've been messing with my sound for the last 15 years. Both at the source and the recording. Yet I would be hard pressed to tell the difference between now and 15 years ago in a recording.[emoji52]

Re: I think I'm sick...

I could definitely tell my sound from 15 years ago from now.

I've learned so much about how different pieces of gear affect the sound that I think my sound has really improved.

Now, if we were talking about my style? Technique may be different and a few new licks, but I probably play very much the same.
