Oh yes, they are about the best bang for the buck guitar on the planet!

Re: I want to buy this PRS soapbar, should I

thats awesome. i've tried to get into p90s but i guess i'm scared to stray from HB's

Re: I want to buy this PRS soapbar, should I

Get it sorted and buy the thing, $275 is a pittance.

I want one too but the single cut version

I had one of those until two weeks ago, except mine had a maple top.

Very nice guitar, nice neck, perfect making.

I sold it because I decided P-90ties are not my thing. And all these Korean guitars feel very generic. Blind it would be hard to tell one of these (with humbuckers) from -say- a Schecter C1 or a similar guitar from the same factory.

Anyway, the PRS SE are clearly the cheapest of all these guitars from the same factory. You can probably get one for even less than $275. I had to go to $320, but mine had a Seymour Duncan soapbar in the bridge and was a blue maple top. The sunburst is the least liked color so it wouldn't surprise me if this one stays unsold.

I really do like the sunburst myself tho. but uOpt is correct. great guitars fo sho

You better buy it before someone else snatches it up at that price.

they just re-released the single cut version ... known as the Soapbar (the one on ebay is the Soapbar II)

I'm holding out for the Soapbar.

The sunburst looks better in real life than on photos, that's why it is cheaper used.

People pick these things in sunburst in guitar center and flood the market, but the Ebay crowd doesn't like the looks on the photos so demand is lower.

I have seen Sunburst SEs go cheaper than $275, although I'm not sure they were soapbars.

I have to respectfully disagree. I tried really hard to like Schecters, but they have that crappy feel. My PRS SE feels like a much more expensive guitar than it is. It plays wonderfully and I believe, but do not know for sure, that the quality control is much higher than on other overseas guitars. They may be from the same factory, but are not designed by the same people. I would play some Schecters and PRS SEs before buying, to make sure you know which one feels right to you.

Well, OK.

All I wanted to say is that the Schecter C-1 and other much more expensive guitars are certainly not better than the PRS SEs.

"Soapbar" is the codeword for the P-90 loaded ones. "Single-cut" is the codeword for the discontinued body form. Just in case anyone mixes this up.

I found the P-90s in the SE Soapbar to be pretty good for cleans, picking and the like but really not good for crunching. When I put a Seymour Duncan P-90 in mine I had to discover that those are a little bigger and only fit without cover. One of the reasons I gave up on P-90ties, I don't need more parts fitting headaches than guitars give you anyway.

My Soapbar SE also had a treble bleed "mod" from the factory, another sign that somebody who actually plays these things gets to have a say in what exactly they do there.
