I prefer the SG Standard over the 61 Reissue. The Standards tend to use mahogany that's alot more figured, whereas the 61's tend to use a lighter color mahogany with little figuring- which results in a light coloe red. I also prefer the full pickguard of the Standard as well

The PG set is back out of it again, and the stock set in, and it'll be on the way back home to the UK with me tonight, from whence it will most likely be disposed of. I tried, but me and it do not sit comfortably together...

Noones gonna recall this, but remeber I said right here on this forum that those Sg's werer gonna go up, and that 1199.00 for a Gibson SG Std. was THE bargain of the millenia, and GWIF came on as usual blasting me saying i was pulling stuff outta my ying yang .
Check the price on them now. 1499.00, and STILL a good deal. If you recall, they WERE 1699.00, and I am prediciting that they will be again very soon.
Christopher, my man, you are now an international fugitive form the law..because you STOLE that SG !

You could be right Jer, but it's now very nicely wrapped in airport cling-film and checked into cargo - I'll catch it on the other side. ;)

Funny how these threads go. For those that haven't noticed, this thread was started over 18 months ago, and I've resurrected it to say I've decided to say my goodbyes to the SG.
