And I wish I would have a reason to justify buying it if I had the money.

You know if you add up all the scratch you've spent on low end guitars you hit that 600 mark hes asking....
Whatever. Then he wouldn't have a guitar to plug into it.

Yes he would... he was GIVEN 2...
so like... whatever...

250+225+150= 625... thats some creative accounting you got going on there sport. Christmas gift or not it was money laid out on gear that could have gone elsewhere. The pickups have zero to do with this, only the price you paid.
Its your money and in the end I dont really care how you spend it. If you are happy with piles of low end gear have at it. But then dont get bummed out when pricier pieces are out of reach cause you didnt save up a bit of scratch. This is my point.
And really its cool, you are young in the grand scheme of things it really wont hurt anything. Ive just seen so many guys start out and buy piles of low end gear that they are barely able to sell later when they decide they want to move up. Right now its a buyers market.
Silverface Twin Reverbs are way overrated and that's about $250 more than i would spend on one.
one can take a cheap guitar
set it up well and and if it feels good
feels comfortable, stays in tune etc
one can have a fine player
the amp
if one takes a mid range amp
either SS or Toob
turns the knobs, one can find at least one good useable tone
a good tone and nice player can make music
granted everyone may not like it
I like less expensive guitars
I have a few
I also have some mid range gear
I really dont feel as though I play well enough
to justify buying a $4k instrument

Thanks man..
I don't feel that I play well enough to justify buying anything else guitar related. I just can't help myself when I find a good deal...
I'm kinda stuck with playing.. I'm using some online courses but I just can't find anything I like.. I just need to stick to something and learn..
If you shop and purchase properly, you will sell the low end stuff at the same profit/loss margin as the expensive stuff. I splurged recently and picked up a bunch of mid-level imports (IE, $400-$700 when new) for about $200 a piece. If I were to sell them all, I'd realize a fair amount of profit. It would take an enormous amount of luck to have the same profit off one expensive guitar.
Sell your crappy guitars and use the money to take real lessons
