Ian D'Sa (Billy Talent) tone

I must say I absolutely ADORE the tone Ian gets from his strats. I read in an interview though that in the studio he uses a 60's tele reissue for the cleans, and a '75 Les Paul for the hard stuff. Yet he also gets the same cleans from a USA fat strat... does anyone know if he uses custom pups, or just uses the fender stock?

I think I read that he uses stock Hecho en Mexico strats (MIM) since they are cheaper than the America variety. I love that song "try honesty" great tone. especially at the end when he's shaking the Sh*t outta the strings.

I also read in guitar world that he uses mexi strats. I think he said he likes the grittier tone from them. I'm pretty sure the pu's arent stock tho.

He uses USA strats in studio and what not, but he only uses the MIM strats live, because they're "easier on the ol' budget"
