Shredders' monster here. Ibanez Edge and all hardware in Black. Pickups will be the stock V7 S1 V8 pickup re-installed. Has the old style square neck joint with the scalloped/sculpted heel, which I actually prefer to the newer AANJ type. Scalloped fretboard (frets 15-24) and body matching headstock in flip flop Neon Purple/Pink rare color. Fabulous guitar. Trimming the Ibanez herd.

$570 USPS MO+ actual shipping. Thanks for looking.

Even though Paul Gilbert didn't play one, it looks like the same one in the Wheaties ad from 1989 even though it's an advertisement for RG550/560's and I don't think he ever played them either....

Sort of looks like the same color but that looks more like it would be according to the 1989 catalog Heather Pearl.

EDIT: Not the same guitar obviously as mine is from 1991 but I was just having fun reminiscing about early Ibanez RGs and noting PG didn't play the guitars he was advertised with.

oh baby!!!!

That is awesome. I don't have the money but I plan on getting a shred guitar to mess around with as soon as I get some!

First, yeah Gilbert played (and still plays a RG550) It was his first main Ibanez.

Second, Im gonna try and help you out.. I have one just like this. Mine is a 1990. They are Awesome players and a very cool color.

Your photo shows the pink side, here are a couple of pics of mine to show the boys and girls out there what the color can change to:

it goes from the purple that the headstock looks to a dusty rose color and the effect is AMAZING under stage lights.

Good luck!!

FYI, Gilbert's RG was a 750. The 550 gets maple board, vs the 750 getting the bound rosewood board.
