Ibanez Art Series any good?

They look nice but do they play well? Any other comments? I'd probably replace the pickups with a set of 59s. Since I decided not to put the 59 in my Ibanez GSA60 I'm looking for a Les Paul style guitar with a lower price tag. How is the neck? Thin?

I got this zebra 59B from a big musical inspiration for me and I don't just want it to go in my first guitar that I won't play much, I'm looking for something decent. Thanks guys.

My bro-in-law had one. i thought it wasn`t bad at all except the finish on back of neck is a little thick, plastic kinda feeling.. imo of course. Good bang for the buck though!

Re: Ibanez Art Series any good?

I was at a pawn shop and picked up a factory second / reconditioned Epiphone Les Paul Custom that blew my socks off.

I would never in a million years imagined I would have bought an Epiphone, but it was just plain good. It's a good guitar.

I always recommend guitar hunting in person for this reason.

Most guitars are usable for sure if they will accept a good setup!

I have one and agree with the comments. The weak points on the guitar are the pickups, the tuners and the plastic nut in that order. Replace those and you have something that plays well for low $$$$

The neck is a 12" radius and is a little wider than an epi/gibson I think- it is not a thin shredder neck and the finish is quite thick on the back...the bridge and tailpiece are really nice and overall fit and finish were good with no high frets or sharp fret ends. String alignment was spot on as well.

The 59 neck I had in was quite boomy, it really worked well with the mayhem set. I had mine active for a while which was good too, but returned the mayhem set to it as thats what seemed to work best.

I "tested" two of 'em about a year ago at my cousin's guitars store . . . i was not impressed.
The overall vibe just felt wrong to me.

I would rather try and find a used AR model - imho, those ROCK !
Like an AR200, or AR250.

Love mine....All new pots,wiring,caps...59B and JazzN...Gotoh bridge, bone nut, string saver saddles..Nice setup...Wonderful sounding and playing 335 kinda thing....Cost me $175...Stole it actually...Rich 19845150 just sent me an UOA5 magnet to stick in the 59B..Currently it has an A2 magnet...Thinkin this magnet would be even better? Mine is the Artcore AS 73..
