Ibanez RG250 ??

I have a Ibanez RG250 that I picked up for $150.00
It has a Floyd Rose so I figured it was worth at least that.
Anyone have opinions on these? From what I understand they were only made for 2 years... somewhat rare for what they are.
I have a set of Black Winter pickups i was thinking about putting in there... not sure if its worth the effort??
Has a Wizard II neck. It's ok..
And thats my problem with this guitar... it's ok.
But for $150.00... I guess its pretty good.

Just looking for opinions...

I have an RG2EX1 hardtail
It was meh with the V7 V8 pickups

With a JB/Jazz set, it screams

Heck, IMO the w2 is an awesome neck profile.
The wizzard-prestige is a my favorite in the Ibby family.
I've never liked the super-thin wizzard (17mm at 1st-fret)

From a width perspective I prefer 43mm-58mm,,,,,,many of the Indo and Korean made only go up to 56mm,,,,still not bad at all.

Resoncast huh? Researching it seems like it would have a sort-of heavy deadened quality to the tone.
That would IMO be a good material for the BW set, or even actives that are bright and lively.

JB would also be very good if you're not fanatical about having a crisp fast low-end attack, although the resoncast would actually help in that department I'm betting.

I looked again, It's actually a RG250DX

Whatever the DX stands for?

The Black Winters are white and so is the guitar. Could have a unique look to it. I also have a single coil 59 I may put in the middle position... because I can.

Should look and sound great, just don't forget to polish those frets and oil that board well a couple times while the strings are off.
Not sure about the "dx"

Dx is deluxe
It means it has a pickguard

The 350dx has the same guard
The 50 means it's a solid color

And I don't know what the friggin one at the end is
The RG2EX1 is the hard tail solid color blue
The RG4EXFM1 is a transparent blue with flame and a Floyd
Neither have pickguards, which may be the one

The RG2 series is just a step below the RG3, then RG4, and so on

Yea... I've seen a lot of the RG350's not to many of the 250's.
Doesn't seem to be a lot of difference.

I actually prefer the wizard 2 over the plain wizard. The weakest link on a lot of the lower end ibby’s is the hardware. If it were me I would drop the 70-100 bucks and upgrade the bridge at least.

My friend has 2 RG550's with the Wizard 1 neck.
He prefers those . Idk? Go figure. To each thier own.

I was really debating if this guitar was worth the swap. Now I'm actually looking forward to it.

Not sure how I'm going to wire the middle '59 pickup yet?

Supposedly you can get a nice Strat sound splitting the Black Winters, so maybe I'll have the '59 separate on a push pull?

It's an Ibby, low end. Perfectly competent instrument, needs some TLC on the setup and new pups.

I'd rock it.

when I started back playing a few years ago
I replaced my 90s Squire with an Ibanez

never played one before
looked them up , joined the Ibanez forum

had a chart once that listed all the dimensions of the different wizard and Ibanez necks

the wizard was super skinny
the II was a bit thicker
the III was a II but wider
the JS was shallow C with a 9.5 radius

It's so funny when people try to pigeon-hole Ibanez necks into one thin little box,,,, when there's literally like dozens and dozens of specs.
Just looking at the w3,,,,,,,there's 5 different specs for the 6string versions alone.

Even myself,,,,,,I posted earlier that it's the w-prestige that's my favorite (of the ones I've played/own),,,,,but there's actually an older version of the wp, but I was indeed referring to the newer 05-09 version.
