I have that guitar. It costs me 360 € ! I found the stock active ibanez pickups are not good, so i bought a set of EMG 81 & 60. i have this set of pickups, and all the electronics ( except the pickup selector ). here is the question... the guitar is made in indonesia, so i am thinking if the original electronics which comes with EMGs are better quality than stock ibanez? and guitar needs some shielding job too. So, what's better quality, stock electronics or EMG electronics? one more i say the guitar was made in indonesia..... sorry for my english, it's little bad !

Without knowing anything about the Indonesia Ibanez wiring, I can say that I've used EMG wiring in the past. It's quality enough for me to use. I'd pull the Indonesian wiring out in favor of the EMG, especially if you're going to use the EMG pickups...I have no idea if the Indonesian wiring is compatible or not, but using the EMG wiring takes care of that potential issue as well.

Well, i deicided to drive that guitar to local service luthier for guitars next month. i deicided to replace indonesian electronics with original emg electronics as well.. the question is... i want to run emg's at 18V mode.. but guitar itself has only one hole for 9V battery... where else can be putted another battery ? the guitar battery cavity is original with two 4.5V batteries, but i would not carry about that much, because i can unscrew the original plastic out and there is still cavity large enough for one 9V battery.. but where to put another 9V battery, to do the 18V mod ? any suggestions ? thanks

If you have tried the guitar through an amp and find it noisy or find that you do not like the pickups sound, then switch to the EMG pickups.
EMG pickups will require new wiring; they use 25k volume potentiometers instead of 500k pots.
Finding the room for a second battery is difficult on some guitars.

Well, i already have the emg electronics, it comes together with those active pickups... yes, the stock pickups are somehow terrible. i will ask the luthier if it's possible to fit somewhere another one 9V battery, i want 18V mode, but if there were be the problems to find the room i will probably just go 9V mod.

I ditched the original active pickups (never liked it from the start) & abandoned the idea of having any other actives in there. So my RGA32 has a pair of passive Duncans (pic)...
