Ibanez S 440 Japan or new Ibanez S 520

Re: Ibanez S 440 Japan or new Ibanez S 520

Pretty sure I read somewhere that the only difference is the intonation design, and that they're both MIC

Man, what are you doing all this time in Jemsite? This is basic : Edge Zero = GOTOH = MIJ. Period.

if Edge 3 < Edge Zero II < Edge Zero can survive this, then I dunno what's your concern. Most refined PRESTIGE Ibanez come with Edge Zero (made by Gotoh, Japan).
Lmao I never said a thing about its performance. As far as tuning goes, EZ II and EZ are rock solid, and the knife edges are quality. It's the baseplate that's the problem.

True but you will not be playing a video recording.

^^^ Priyatelyu,
why don't you just order a custom shop guitar from some well known maker in Russia? It will be better than most MII's.
http://www.shamray.net/ , fokin pups , etc.. all seem great. One Bosnian guy I trust threw away his stock pups in his JP7 and put Fokin pups.

I'll be using Fokin pups in new S guitar, I'm going to buy. Saw him today morning, BTW, he's working on some great new products :) Of course, I can order the custom shop guitar. But right now I want Ibanes S, the custom guitar will be just another guitar. I think it's good to order the custom guitar from particular luthier when you want a particular guitar from him, or you have the idea to be brought to life by the luthier. I don't like the idea of custom copies of famous brands and shapes - that's why I'm looking for the original Ibanez S. Shamray is a very controversive manufacturer. by the way. I don't want to order anything from him.

Just slap the gotoh on there. paint it orange, add a humbucker, mod in a triple switch and be done with it.:9:

The graphtech floyd was really special on the indo one. Man this was a fun mod.

I want a s with three single coils.

Haha - great mods with three Humbuckers! Why not?

Do you want S with just three single coils, or with classic strat layout?

Talking about Catalogs ?
PRESTIGE LINE 2016 : http://www.ibanez.com/products/eg_series15.php?area_id=3&cat_id=1&year=2015&series_id=1&pre=1
3 out of 5 of their trem PRESTIGE MIJ quitars wear the EDGE ZERO FROM THE FACTORY.

Are you still claiming that Edge Zero are Chinese?? I guess its my turn to LMAO ?

Holy ****. It literally says these GUITARS are MIJ, nothing about the TREM at ALL.

Almost all of those guitars also have DiMarzios from the factory. Are you telling me they manufacture DiMarzios in Japan, too?

Actually, thinking about it, this really boils down to how many frets you actually need. Furthermore, regardless of the Edge Zero fiasco above (and below), the 520 has an Edge Zero 2, which, although a solid performer, is definitely made in China with pot metal (the baseplate at least).

Also, that bridge is likely a LO-TRS I

Probably just "serviceable". I heard terrible things about the LO-TRS II, but I've also heard that the I and the II are different. Probably made by Takeuchi, but in this case the EZ is probably the same if not better. It can be directly swapped with an OFR or a Gotoh, but may also require routing depending on the intonation.

So, if you like the 520's specs, you may actually be better off with it.

I was just told that Edge Zero II has changeable knife blades.
