Okay, this is my 1991 Ibanez 540s. It does metal really well and I'm happy with the resonance and sound, but I'm a little disappointed now that I've realized something. I wanted to put a hum cancelling single coil in the neck and in order to do so I needed to route out some wood to make space for the wiring. Now that the shielding paint is gone I'm noticing two different colored woods in my guitar. It is suppose to be all mahogany but it looks like only half of my guitar is mahogany and the other half is something else. In the picture you can see that half of the wood is a darker wood and the other half is something lighter.
